An appreciation of Emilia Ortiz’s work in this final style has to credit her lifelong searching, her inquiring spirit, which saw her painting in so many different  styles and schools. It is also possible that through this impressive series of religious images, Dona Emilia best joined her own spiritual journey with her lifelong artistic impulse.
